Since May 2020 when we first began to embark on this walk of faith, there have been more than a few practical questions presented by friends and family.
This is what we say when they ask…
Why would you sell your home and give up your stable income to tell people about Jesus?
If the livelihood you and your family depended solely on you rising early, putting in long hours and working as hard as you possibly could to make ends meet, would you do it? Understandably, your answer might be along the lines of “Yes, of course I would”, because you would work as much as you needed to in order to provide. That is your responsibility, no one else will do it for you. Maybe you are working with a goal in mind; to pay off a debt or save for retirement. Working hard your whole life to build the life you want for yourself and your family is your motivation.
Being called by God is no different. We will rise early, put in long hours and work as hard as we possibly can to get our work done. Instead of a monetary gain we receive salvation. Not only our own salvation, but the salvation of those we have yet to meet. We are working to pay a debt that will never be paid off with no vacation days. Our reward existing not only in heaven, but in the eyes of the people whose souls were saved from eternal suffering because we helped direct their path to true salvation, Jesus. (MAT 6:33)
How about money?
God will provide. Plain and simple. My husband and I each have a small skill set that has the potential to bring in a small income. I freelance write and my husband is an overall handyman. We will not make anywhere near the amount of money we previously did working a 9 to 5, but that’s not an issue. We will live simply and anything we have that we do not need will be used to bless someone else. If I believe that my Father in heaven has sent us out to glorify Him, then I believe He has a plan to keep us safe and fed. (MAT 6:30-32)
I will do my best every single day and not worry about tomorrow, I know He knows our needs and will provide. He has already proven this time and again.
Who exactly is worth all this?
Everyone. I will speak with, pray for, give to anyone He sends our way because I know if He sent them to us, He has plans for them. God loves everyone, so who are we to say who is worthy of our time? (MAT 25:40-45)
Where will you go?
Anywhere He sends me we will go. If we can drive there, we will be there. We will not be wandering aimlessly; we are each a member of the Body of Christ. Within the body we have others praying for us, pointing us in the right direction, and eager to help in any capacity if the need arises. (ROM 12:4-6)
When are you planning on starting?
Now. This site has given me an opportunity to reach people that I would not have had the privilege of meeting in everyday life. I am honored to share anything and everything I can to help others.
As for when are we planning on taking this act on the road? As soon as we can. Many factors are to consider but God will show us when it’s time to go. We have been blessed to find a motorhome we can afford from a wonderful couple and I will be happy to share that story in another post. (GAL 6:9)
What is you plan on how you will spread the gospel?
No plan, we are just going to stay in close communication with God through prayer, fast whenever we need a breakthrough (which is more often then I realized) and be the light that Jesus commanded us to be (MAT 5:16). God knows our hearts and our intentions and He knows the hearts and intentions of all we meet so if they need prayer, we will be there. If they have questions, we will pray for answers together. If they need money, God will make a way. He will use every opportunity to demonstrate is grace, mercy and love. Every demonstration is a victory, big or small.
Don’t you feel like you are taking something away from your kids?
I am. I am taking away the parents that are too busy to sit with them and color. I am taking away the hours of mindless screen time. I am taking away the public schools that teach the more about the ways of this world and leave out the ways of God. They will see us praying together more, eating together more, traveling together more and when they ask us “Why we live this way” we can teach them first hand what it really means to love Jesus with all their hearts. If we are known by our fruits (MAT 7:18-20) I want our children (our fruit) to have a deep understanding of God’s magnificence and an eagerness to share it with others. (MAT 28:18-20)
I hope this has brought clarity to some common concerns. I promise we are not crazy; we just are desperate to share with everyone the unmistakable and undeniable peace and joy that comes with truly knowing the love of God.
